Ewe and Me

Welcome to our home away from home. My name is Lorinda and I live in the Midwest. I live with my husband Jeremiah and my youngest son Chase in Iowa. We are your average middle America, mid-income, net loving, free thinking, strong willed but down to earth family that feels the need to connect with others through freedom of expression.

Jeremiah and I have been talking about creating a website of our own for quite some time now. He's a network engineer and has many talents we can utilize in creating our passion to connect and express. I love to write and bring my thoughts to life through words. I want to design web pages but I am very, very, inexperienced yet willing to learn. He wants to expand his skill set by writing more code and expanding his programming abilities. So creating our own web blog and website will be able to give us somewhere to fufill both of our desires. Unfortunately we have been slow in getting started. I'm sure it's a project that will be forever cyclical with bursts of creativity, following periods of no progress at all. Life and work have a tendency to interrupt even the best laid plans! So instead of waiting for the right time I've decided to just begin a small part of that huge project by starting this blog which will eventually be moved to our website when it is ready to open.

We hope to eventually share the entire website and blog with members of our extended family and friends across the US and abroad. Allowing them access as guest writers, where they can add their own blog entries with ours, as well as to leave their comments. Ideally we'd like to invite them to share photos, important milestones, family history and 'current happenings' within their individual families. Our goal is to attempt to lessen the miles that can separate us while helping us to feel as though we aren't missing out on each others day to day to lives. After all the beauty of the internet and it's technology gives us just that. Connection and the sharing of information. Hence the term 'information highway'!

I was just telling Jeremiah the other day that I have learned more in my years having access to the internet and computers then I ever did in all my years in school! Why? Because it is an endless diverse avenue of information that is always available to me. When MY schedule allows me to learn about anything that I choose, I can! And the scarey thing is I have my mother to thank! ;) Her thirst for knowledge and new technology allowed me to utilize her hand me downs. Whenever she upgraded to a better pc she gave me the old beasts. And she taught me my first skills in using the computer. In fact the next blog I will write is going to be about how my journey online began and where it has taken me. I hope any and all of you will share your own experiences with me so that I too may post them in future blogs. Feel free to email me. The address can easily be found in the profile section at the upper right of this blog. Til then I hope that everyone has a great end to their weekend and that Monday morning doesn't come too quickly for any of us!
