Well Hello There

Well hello there....
It's been forever since I've blogged. It's really a pattern with me so I'm not going to bother apologizing for it. Off and on. That's me. I will return at some point and share thoughts, experiences and parts of my family's lives so don't despair. Just understand I'm flawed too.

My best friend and "Old Same" Tari, is why I am motivated to begin writing again. For a project she has been blogging. I realized how much I looked forward to reading them and how much I miss getting to spend time with her in our busy lives. Being able to read her thoughts and words and hear her voice in my mind helps make that challenge possible. So being as I'm not as selfish I used to be when younger, I figured she deserved the same for me!

Veteran's day was my 6th wedding anniversary. I was on call all week for work though (I'd been called out both the previous 2 weekends for a suction pump and low air loss mattress) and knew if I planned anything I surly would have to go in! So we just stayed around home, went to the grocery in the cold wet rain and then enjoyed being at home all warm and cozy instead. He made us an apple pie from scratch and put our last name's initial on top! It was delish and a really sweet twist. As usual I help a bit but I'm more like the surgeon's assistant then anything. Anticipating if he needs something or can't find others or just asks me to slice the apples he's peeled. I still got off easy because let me tell you I am horrible at making pie crusts! This was his 'test' apple pie he said because he's a little rusty from not making any since last fall and we've agreed to provide the pie on Thanksgiving at my sister's house. I can't wait to taste that pumpkin we'll be making. He has an aversion to pumpkin so he's agreed to make the crust for me and I just have to do the filling. Hopefully this year's holiday gathering won't be similar to last years. As long as well all can not talk to each other we should be fine! LOL  Considering the commercial ads out there that talk about how dysfunctional holiday families are I think were more the norm then the extreme thankfully! I'll keep you updated.

Lately we've begun Christmas shopping. I prefer doing it in my pajama's online then going out. Amazon is my friend and UPS is my worker bee. A slow steady stream of packages arrive at our door before the holiday slams us unknowingly and we get a reputation for being forgetful!
Who me?
I like to involve my kids, husband and sister in deciding what we'll get for our parent's, nieces, nephews and cousins. Which has lead my husband to now be on a hunt for the perfect gift for someone special. He's got a ways to go though because 'someone' isn't that in touch with their inner child and has no wish list to offer him. Thankfully my family is well trained in that area though and the frenzied purchasing has begun.

Happy Tuesday Everyone.....
